#10 - Appoint Time To Self & Pause  

Taking TIMEOUT for intentional care is one of the greatest gifts that you can give to Self. Appointing time and space is essential if you are to make SELF LOVE a priority among the other pressing matters in your life. RETREATING from being a warrior on the defensive, undertaking battles as a superwoman is not only smart but necessary in a world that wants to tell you who you are. 

#9 - Overwrite Old Habits & Create New Habits

Simply asking your self “what is it time to stop” and what is it time to start?” and working trough a plan to support the initiation and establishment  of new habits is a great focus for black women on retreat. The world is changing and how we live in it and contribute has changed but all success is based on our habits so changing habits during a 4 or 6 day retreat is a powerful reason to retreat. 

#8 - Healing the Gut With Natural & Raw Foods  

Most dis-ease begins in the gut and based on what we put into our mouths. Over the last 2 generations foods in the Western Hemisphere  have become less and less natural and increasingly - giving our guts time to heal with the aid of natural foods, juices and herbs can be the relief needed to begin a new journey back to balance and greater strength

Celebrating ourselves is crucial in a world that wants to denigrate those who are melanated. Thankfully the tide has begun to change in how it sees us but only because we first had to change how we see ourselves. Counterbalance. We need it. Our bodies, minds and creativity needs it. Our digital lives are important but we need to remember to balance and find pleasure, power and balance in the analogue.
